Welcome

Founded on faith, built for family

We are a church founded upon the pillar of the RCCG mission, established in Wellingborough on the first Sunday of May 2005 by our mother parish in Northampton. We pursue our vision with passion and an unalloyed loyalty to the tenets of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Our home is the Kingsway Centre, Wellingborough — and whether you are new to the town, new to RCCG, or new to faith itself, you are welcome here.

Why we exist

Our Mission

The mission of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, as received by our General Overseer and shared with every parish in the denomination worldwide:

  • To make Heaven.
  • To take as many people as possible with us.
  • To have a member of RCCG in every family of all nations.
  • To accomplish the first goal, holiness will be our lifestyle.
  • To accomplish the rest, we will plant churches within five minutes' walking distance in every city and town of developing countries, and within fifteen minutes' driving distance in developed countries.

We will pursue these objectives until every nation in the world is reached for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

Our vision is to build a family of believers from all races and colours, with a true self-realisation of who they are in Christ — prepared and empowered to minister the gospel and positively impact their community.

To serve as a place where believers are moulded into the image of Christ through contemporary worship and the practical teaching of the Word of God.

Join our church family and become part of the chosen generation.

Since 1952

The history of the RCCG

Divine Faithfulness — a word from Pastor E. A. Adeboye, General Overseer of the RCCG

In 1952, God used a man called Rev. Josiah Akindayomi — a great warrior of righteousness — to give birth to the Redeemed Christian Church of God, destined by the Lord to take the world for Him. Rev. Akindayomi passed on to glory in 1980, and under supernatural circumstances the mantle of leadership fell on Pastor E. A. Adeboye, then a lecturer in Mathematics at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, who had been ordained a pastor of the church in 1975.

Upon assuming the office of General Overseer in 1981, Pastor Adeboye — through God's leading — introduced several ministries and programmes that led to phenomenal church growth, making the RCCG one of the fastest-growing churches in the world today. The parishes now number tens of thousands worldwide, with hundreds across the United Kingdom and a presence on every continent.

A major introduction of Pastor Adeboye is the model parish church, in keeping with the God-given prophecy that the RCCG would be used as a model church to take the full gospel of faith, holiness and biblical Christian living to Europe, America and the rest of the world.

God continues to do miraculous deeds through the Holy Ghost Service — a monthly all-night miracle service that gathers hundreds of thousands of worshippers at the Redemption City, Lagos, Nigeria, with Holy Ghost services now also held across England, Europe, Canada and the USA.

What we believe

Our faith, plainly stated

The heart of the Christian faith as we hold it, drawn from the Scriptures.

About God
As revealed to us by the Bible, we believe there is only one God, the Creator of all things visible and invisible (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 86:9-10; John 1:1-3). Only God exists forever, and in Him every creature receives life (John 5:26).
About Jesus Christ
We believe He is the Son of God who took away our sins, the Saviour of the world. Jesus is God revealed in the flesh, born of Mary the virgin; through Him all things were created (John 1:1-14; Matthew 1:18-25; Isaiah 9:6). We believe in His death on the cross and His resurrection, by which He brought redemption to mankind (Isaiah 53:4-10; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Corinthians 15:3).
About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third Person in the Trinity, sharing the same power and glory with God the Father and God the Son (John 14:16-17; Matthew 3:16). He teaches, speaks to us, and bears witness in us; He performs the work of regeneration and sanctification, and endows believers with gifts for service (1 Corinthians 12:7; Acts 1:8).
About Man
God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into him the breath of life (Genesis 2:7). Man is of three parts — body, soul and spirit — and is God's ambassador on earth, set above all other creatures to reveal His love (Genesis 1:26-28).
About Prayer
A Christian with a clear conscience has the right to thank God and to remain in adoration and prayer always. We pray in the name of Jesus (John 16:23), and the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness (Romans 8:26). We are commanded to pray without ceasing and not to faint (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Luke 18:1).
Repentance unto God
Repentance is the godly sorrow of a person for their sins, with a decision to turn from them (Acts 3:19; 2 Corinthians 7:10; Isaiah 55:7).
About the Trinity
We believe that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are one God in three Persons — ONE IN TRINITY (Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:19).

Bible teachings

A selection from our statement of faith and practice.

The Bible
We believe the entire Scripture, both Old and New Testament, is written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16-17). All Christian teaching and conduct are established in the Holy Bible (2 Peter 1:21; Psalm 119:105).
Justification (New Birth)
This is God's grace by which we are cleansed from our sins so we can stand before God as though we had never sinned (Romans 5:1; 1 Corinthians 6:11; John 3:3).
Sanctification
Another grace of God by which our souls are progressively and completely cleansed — wrought through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ after we have been justified (1 Thessalonians 4:3; Hebrews 12:14; 1 John 1:7).
Baptism of the Holy Spirit
All born-again souls should ask for the Holy Spirit, as the apostles waited in Jerusalem until they were filled from above. It is the promise of the Father (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-5; Acts 2:38-39).
Water Baptism
We believe in baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). Every saved soul qualifies for water baptism by immersion — an outward sign of true repentance and of being joined with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection (Romans 6:1-23).
Restitution
Restitution is a sign of true repentance — making right what was damaged. Whatever cannot give us a clear conscience before God and man should be restituted without delay (Luke 19:8; Proverbs 28:13; Acts 24:16).
Holy Communion
Instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ shortly before His death, He commanded all Christians to gather regularly to share the bread and the cup until He comes again (Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30).
The Lord's Day
We believe the first day of the week — Sunday — is a special day on which believers gather to worship, for the Lord resurrected on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7; Revelation 1:10; Mark 16:9).
Holy Matrimony
Marriage is honourable in all (Hebrews 13:4). The Word of God teaches monogamy — one husband and one wife — as the order from the beginning (Genesis 2:18; Matthew 19:4-6).
Dedication of Children
We believe that after a child is born, the parents should bring them to the House of the Lord for dedication (1 Samuel 1:22; Matthew 19:13-15).
Divine Healing
Healing is part of the gospel. Christ bore our infirmities and carried our sorrows; by His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:4-5; 1 Peter 2:24). We pray for the sick in faith, freely, with no charge (Matthew 10:8; James 5:14-15).
The Resurrection
There is a resurrection of the body. Jesus taught plainly that the buried body will be raised at the last day (1 Corinthians 15:22, 42-44; Daniel 12:2; John 5:28-29).
The Second Coming of Christ
The second coming of Jesus Christ will be physical and visible, in like manner as He ascended (Acts 1:9-11; John 14:3) — first to receive His saints, and then to the earth in judgement (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 19:19-21).
New Heaven & New Earth
After the judgement, God will create a new heaven and a new earth in which holiness will dwell (2 Peter 3:12-13; Revelation 21:1-3; Isaiah 65:17).
The Church of God
The born-again are called the Church of God — the assembly of believers who accept Christ as the head of the Church and whose great assignment is to spread the gospel to all nations (Ephesians 1:22; Matthew 28:19).
